img_2246_jpg_55945The organization „Dostignuća mladih“ (achievements of youth) from Serbia held a regional high school competition „Poslovni izazov zapadnog Balkana“ (business challenge of the Western Balkans) today in Sarajevo, which included the participation of 80 students, whose teams were ‘the best of the best’ at the national competitions in B&H, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro.

The competition was organized in cooperation with the Youth Information Agency of B&H, Socio-Economic Center and Association of Initiatives, and with the financial support of the Balkan Fund for Democracy.

This year the competition was hosted in Sarajevo. The first one was held in Belgrade, and next year it will be held in Podgorica or in another city, and then in 2016 in Zagreb.

The aim of the competition is to provide students with an insight into a modern business vision and to motivate them to think proactively and to turn their ideas into practice.

Students first met on Saturday. They came from various countries and were divided in teams. They had to make a business solution for a task that was placed in front of them, to make a business plan and a presentation.

Because this year the 100 years since the assassination on Archduke Franz Ferdinand by Gavrilo Princip, this event was chosen as a challenge for students to design a product or service that would be inspired by this assassination.

‘’This at first glance seems simple, but to make a business plan, to develop everything for 12 hours is not easy, and to then stand in front of a jury that has to assess your work. This is an excellent challenge for young people’’, said Radičanin.
