Zenica- Military Helicopters are Still Evacuating the Population

zenica_poplave_thumbOn the territory of Zenica Doboj canton, in all municipalities the situation is extremely complicated and difficult, and currently the most attention is given on the saving of people’s lives, evacuation and care for endangered population.

Today, with help of helicopters from EUFOR and Croatian military, patients from villages Šerići, Orahovice and Željezno polje are evacuated.

Highway M-17, on the territory of Nemila is passable only for ambulance, police, military and civil protection cars. Vehicles for delivery of food and help to endangered population pass, but only with advance notice. This regime of traffic will be remain until further notice.

Regional road Zenica-Vitez, over Vjetrenica, is in deadlock due to landslides, and the roadway Bistričak – Nemila is interrupted due to level of water on underpass.

According to the information from field, the level of river Bosna and near streams is falling off, and it is for certain that the activities of teams which help to the population will be mainly directed towards the sanitation of consequences of flooding, such as landslides and landslides on roads.
