The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija received a letter from the Mayor of Dubrovnik Mate Frankovic regarding the adoption of a Memorandum between the Council of Ministers and the Government of Serbia which “determines the basic directions of future cooperation with the aim of realizing the project in the Cabinet of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers.
When asked by Srna news agency to comment on Franković’s letter asking for the construction of the airport in Trebinje to be stopped, Tegeltija said that he thanked the mayor of Dubrovnik for reminding him of the signed Agreement on Cross-Border Cooperation between the Council of Ministers and the Republic of Croatia on construction of a radioactive waste dump in Trgovska gora, which does not contribute at all to the improvement of good neighborly relations.
The Chairman of the Council of Ministers emphasized that the choice of the location for the landfill raises at least not only the ecologically important issue, but also the issue of endangering the health of the citizens who inhabit this region.
“Since the beginning of our mandate, the Council of Ministers and I, as the chairman, are determined to work together with the entity governments to improve the economic environment of both entities, but also to strengthen regional cooperation,” said Chairman Tegeltija.
He expressed readiness to talk with the Government of Croatia and other countries in the region about all open issues that exist, as well as about all forms of cooperation that are important for all citizens.
“I look forward to the success and progress of every country that works for the benefit of its citizens. I am especially looking forward to the success of our neighbors, because their progress means progress for us in BiH. I do not understand why the mayor of Dubrovnik is not looking forward to the construction of the airport in Trebinje, given the economic importance that its construction has not only for Trebinje, but for the entire Republika Srpska and BiH,” said Tegeltija.
