The Association of Family Members of the Missing “Istina-Kalinovik ’92” marked the 30th anniversary of the suffering of Bosniak civilians in Kalinovik.

On that occasion, they visited the former camps and execution sites in the area of Kalinovik, and laid flowers and paid tribute to the victims.

Ramiz Salkic, Vice President of the Republika Srpska, also attended the commemoration.

122 Bosniaks were killed in Kalinovik. The remains of 80 people have been found and identified, and 42 civilians are still being searched for.

More than a thousand women, children and men passed through the camp, which was located at the Elementary School in Kalinovik.

Several courts ruled on war crimes in the Kalinovik area.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced former commander of the Tactical Group Ratko Bundalo to 22 years in prison, commander of the police station in the Kalinovik Public Security Station Nedjo Zeljaja to 15, a member of the Vojska Republike Srpske (VRS) and commander of the guard who managed the infamous Gunpowder Warehouse camp Djordjislav Askraba, seven years in prison.

Former VRS member Novica Tripkovic was sentenced to eight years in prison for crimes in Kalinovik (20 years of combined imprisonment for crimes in Foca). Slavko Lalovic aka Ustasa was sentenced to five years for rape, solicitation and terror at a school in Kalinovik.

A member of the VRS, Dalibor Krstovic aka Dado, was sentenced to nine years in Serbia, but the Court of Appeals in Belgrade ordered a retrial.

The Hague tribunal also sentenced Dragoslav Kunarac Zaga, commander of a special volunteer unit, to 28 years for crimes in Kalinovik and Foca.

So far, the perpetrators of war crimes have been sentenced to a total of 94 years in prison in the three mentioned courts.
