Four more patients died of severe acute respiratory infections in the Republika Srpska (RS), bringing the total number of victims to 20, data from the Institute of Public Health in RS stated.

The new four patients died in the Banja Luka hospital.

These are middle-aged and elderly people who were positive for influenza A (H1) pdm09 virus.

The Institute once again reminds citizens that it is necessary to apply measures of personal, especially respiratory hygiene, as well as the hygiene of the space in which we live and work, and that, when visiting homes and visiting hospitals, the recommendations of the competent institutions are respected.

“In case of higher body temperature, it is the best to take a rest, intake plenty of liquids, use some nose drops, pastilles, and to lower the temperature, of course,” said Zakira Pasic, a specialist in urgent medicine.

Ventilation of rooms, regularly washing your hands and avoiding contacts and large meeting, are some of the alternative recommendations.

Although deaths caused a large disturbance in the public, doctors say that – there is no place for panic, we are at the peak of the flu season.
