Analysis of the Average Salary in Republika Srpska

salaryConsumer goods basket for a family of four in Republika Srpska (RS) in December last year amounted to 1,858 BAM, while the average net salary for that month amounted to 834 BAM and it “covered” only 44.89 % of the basket, according to the Confederation of Trade Unions of RS.

However, significantly lower salaries than the average in December 2015 were paid in the construction industry and they amounted to 528 BAM, in trade sector amounted to 589 BAM and the sector of tourism and hospitality 603 BAM.

Data of Confederation of Trade Unions of RS showed that families in RS allocated most of the money in the past month for the purchase of foodstuff, which amounted to 689 BAM or 37.08 % of the value of the basket of consumer goods.

The cost of housing and communal services in December amounted to 575.20 BAM, household maintenance cost 103.50 BAM, clothing and footwear 135.20 BAM, hygiene and health care 80.80 BAM, transportation 192.15 BAM and costs for education and culture amounted to 82, 10 BAM.

The highest average net salaries in December 2015 were paid in financial organizations, and they amounted to 1259 BAM, while the lowest salaries were paid in administrative and support service activities and they amounted to 521 BAM, which is slightly more than in November last year.
