zemaljski_muzejRepresentatives of several embassies in B&H, on behalf of the network of national institutes for culture of EU member countries (EUNIC) in B&H, sent out an open call for the immediate launching of the necessary steps for the prompt reopening of the B&H National Museum.

The point out that the Museum preserves the cultural heritage of not only B&H and the Balkans, but also all of Europe, and that its closure is contrary to what the network represents: cultural diversity of Europe, which includes the richness of languages and the promotion of artistic and cultural heritage.

They also said that with the closing of such a significant institution of culture, all young people of this country, all local and international students and researchers are deprived of the opportunities to learn and deepen their knowledge, and a number of local and foreign guests have been thwarted in their attempts to discover the rich cultural heritage of all people of B&H, announced the British Council in B&H.

An appeal was sent by the President of EUNIC to B&H and Director of British Council in B&H Larisa Halilović, Vice President of EUNIC and Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain Ignacio Vitórica Hamilton, Director of French Institute/ Center André Malraux Donato Giuliani, Director of the Department for French language, French Institute/Center ndré Malraux Sébastien Plot, and the first Secretary of the Embassy of Germany Jens Wagner.

In addition to them, the appeal is also signed by the Director of Goethe Institute to B&H Charlotte Hermelink, Consul and Cultural Attache of Austria Lucas Bachmayer, Head of the Department for Culture of the Embassy of Italy Ilaria Ragnoni, Attache for Culture of Hungary Anikó Gyenge, Mak Kapetanović from the Department of Communication, Cultural Affairs and Political Cooperation, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Czech Republic Slavomir Goga.
