In Sarajevo, 500 thousand vaccines against Covid-19 manufactured by “AstraZeneca”, which were donated to our country by the Republic of Austria, were handed over.

This is a large donation from Austria for all residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The donation was taken over on behalf of BiH by the Assistant Minister of Civil Affairs, Dusan Kojic.

“A clear sign of strong and friendly relations between BiH and Austria. The Republic of Austria is the first country with which our country has started negotiations on the procurement of vaccines,” said Kojic.

In his address to the media, Kojic said that by the end of August, a shipment of half a million doses of Pfizer / BioNTech is expected in our country, which will arrive as a donation from the United States.

He sent an appeal to the citizens to get vaccinated, and that immunization is the only way to fight the pandemic.

Austrian Ambassador to BiH Urlike Hartmann said that in this way Austria wants to contribute to increasing the rate of vaccinated in BiH.

“We can only solve the pandemic together. No one is safe in a pandemic, so it is in our common interest to provide a sufficient dose of vaccines in the countries of the Western Balkans,” Hartmann said.

She emphasized that BiH has enough doses for vaccination, so it is up to the citizens, BHRT writes.
