Mayor of Laktasi Ranko Karapetrovic has been in an official visit to the city of Linz in Upper Austria and in the presence of the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Upper Austria – Doris Hummer, President of the Export Club at the Chamber of Commerce of Austria, Christian Fuchs, as well as other powerful officials, where he signed Memoranda of Understanding with the CEE Initiative, represented by Aleksandar Cenic.

The signed memoranda include projects for the use of geothermal water and the production of electricity from combustion of waste.
”We signed two Memoranda of Understanding, the first one discussing the development and construction of a geothermal heating system in our municipality and the use of thermal water for tourism, and the second one related to the incineration of waste that can be used for the production of electricity, ” said Karapetrovic.

He added that the municipality of Laktasi is ready to provide all necessary support in order to implement these projects in the near future.

”Our local community has a lot of untapped potential, such as thermal water, so we are ready to collect all the documentation as quickly as possible, in order to start these projects,“ the mayor emphasized.

In April, this year, the CEE Initiative opened its office of representative in Laktasi with the aim of acting, affirmation and improvement of business cooperation between business communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Austria.

“I am really proud that we have signed Memoranda of Understanding with one of the most promising municipalities, such as Laktasi, and our task is to prepare a business plan, in order to provide technology partners, as well as regulate financing, “ said Aleksandar Cenic, President of the European Initiative for South and South East Europe.
