Plakat-za-predstavu-Ay-Carmela-SARTRThe public will have the chance to watch the cult play ‘Ay, Carmela’ on Monday, 7 April at 20:00. This is the most successful performance of SARTR and so far have had over 210 performances and around 80 tours in B&H, as well as throughout Europe.

‘Ay, Carmela’ is a story about an acting pair who are romantically involved (Carmela and Paulino), on actors, entertainers, artists who are caught in the middle of the Spanish Civil War and have to put on a play as a last favror for soldiers, war prisoners who will be shot by fascists the next day. The play is intimate and a sentimental chronicle of memories and a hearty tribute to the art of honor and dignity, humanity and morality of the anti-fascist collective consciousness.

It is on the repertoire of SARTR since 1999 and tours in the theatre scene in B&H, as well as throughout all of Europe, celebrating the great partnership of Selma Alispahić and Dragan Jovičić, who affirm the value of all actors, as well as the vitality and continuity of theatre art.

The cast of the play is: Selma Alispahić (Carmela), Dragan Jovičić (Paulino) i Jasenko Pašić (Gustavet).
