Promotional activities of Tourist Board of Canton Sarajevo are currently taking place in Berlin at the ITB Berlin fair, which is the world’s leading travel fair. A total of 10,000 companies and organizations from 184 countries exhibited their products and services for around 169,000 visitors of this fair in the year of 2017.
The number of countries from five continents that are taking part in this trade fair is almost same this year as well as the number of exhibitors, and they are located on a total of 160,000 square meters of exhibition space.
“Although the fair started just yesterday, it makes me really happy to see a great number of interested parties at our booth. There is a great interest of traveling lovers for Sarajevo and BiH. Some of guests of our stand already visited BiH but they want to find out even more, while for others our capital city and our country are a mysterious adventure that they would like to experience. We are doing our best to make a popular European tourist brand from our natural beauties, cultural and historical monuments, traditions and culture,” said Faruk Caluk, the director of the Tourist Board of Canton Sarajevo.
Last year was very strong when it comes to international travels. Europe was the main driver of increase as a market and regional destination. Also, the number of trips was increased by 6.5 % in the world as well, and it amounted to 1.2 billion of international trips in 2017.
