Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to BiH, Manahan M.P. Sitompul, on an inaugural visit.

Ambassador Sitompul conveyed expressions of support from the government and people of the Republic of Indonesia to BiH, emphasizing that the Republic of Indonesia remains committed to preserving peace and security in BiH. He also reiterated strong support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH.

Becirovic informed his interlocutor about the attack on the constitutional order of BiH by the leadership of the BiH entity Republika Srpska (RS), which is a direct threat to peace, security, and progress for all citizens and peoples in BiH. He added that such irresponsible and dangerous politics carry unforeseeable consequences, not only for BiH but also for the entire region.

He emphasized that the Republic of Indonesia is a proven friend of BiH, and that it demonstrated this by providing support during the adoption of the Resolution on July 11th, as the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica 1995. He also thanked the Republic of Indonesia for financially supporting numerous reconstruction projects in BiH.

It was stated that BiH and the Republic of Indonesia have very good relations. It was also emphasized that the historical friendship between the two countries represents a good foundation for improving relations in all areas, especially in the field of economy and trade relations. Attention was drawn to the possibility of further enhancing cooperation in the field of defense industry, tourism, and education.

It was emphasized that the relations between the two countries should gain new momentum in the political sphere and multilateral activities, through concrete economic initiatives, institutional agreements in the areas of energy, education, and healthcare, as well as increased cooperation in the field of culture, it was stated from the Office of the Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Becirovic.
