BH Institutions allocate Two Hundred Thousand BAM for Purchase of Plastic Bags

And while foreigners ask BH authorities to do what they are paid for, domestic officials are looking for a way to spend a thousand more. Probably in the absence of a more original idea, they came up with plastic bags. Those that are banned everywhere in the world seem to be desirable in our country. And they don’t ask how much it costs. 200,000 marks were spent for these purposes.

As stated, everything is in accordance with the technical characteristics and required conditions specified in the tender documentation. But in reality, the picture of public procurement is something else. Polygon for adjustment and specifications, corresponds to only one – the suitable one.

“We have controversial procurements in areas dominated by companies connected to the top of the government, where we have had a situation where they are too inflated and the prices at which goods are procured. We have had situations where companies connected with the authorities got jobs and in that way they settled accounts with certain party financiers “, claims Srdjan Traljic, the representative of Transparency International in BiH.

While the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina are wasting money on numerous public procurements, it is becoming increasingly difficult for citizens to afford the basics.

And it is not only the price of plastic bags and their use that is in dispute, but also the fact that they have long been out of use in all developed European countries for the purpose of environmental protection. The Europe that BiH has been striving for years. And politicians who are in institutions need to take her there. Instead of stepping forward, we do two steps backward. Because who in BiH cares about environmental protection and bags that are impossible to recycle,” warns Anes Podic, president of the Association of Eco Actions.

For the protection of the environment money not even in the Draft of this year’s budget. But there are new jobs in almost all ministries. The BiH Ministry of Defense is in the lead, but other ministries have not been neglected, as well as the BiH Indirect Taxation Authority and the BiH Border Police. Even new jobs would not be disputable if the existing ones were adequately paid to certain civil servants. Maybe then hygienic bags wouldn’t be disputable, if only they weren’t plastic, Federalna writes.
