All BiH Diplomatic Missions have enough Visa Stickers

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sent an announcement regarding the procurement of visa stickers. As stated by the ministry, due to a series of media speculations and misinformation recently, they were forced to release the information.

All diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina had and currently have stickers for issuing visas.

All requests have been processed and are being processed in accordance with the legal deadlines.

The new procurement of visa stickers in accordance with the Law on Public Procurement of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been completed. 80,000 visa stickers have been procured and are already being distributed in accordance with the plan and needs.

Public tender

Since 2014, when the Law on Public Procurement was adopted, the Ministry has been obliged to procure visa stickers through a public tender, which has not been done until now.

This is the first purchase of stickers during the mandate of the current Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turkovic.

In order to launch a tender, it was necessary to pass the missing Rulebook on visas with precise sticker characteristics, coordinate it with the Ministry of Security and the Service for Foreigners, adopt the Rulebook, provide funds in the budget, and then call for a public tender.

Since no one responded to the first tender, who could meet the technical specifications, the tender was canceled and a new tender procedure was started, which was successfully completed.

Malicious attempts

We reject all malicious attempts to cause panic and confusion among the public.

On the other hand, we believe that for the additional development of tourist connections and an increased number of tourists, it is necessary to ease the visa regime and enable tourists to come without visa procedures in the summer period in BiH.

Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the second time sent to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina an urgent proposal to amend the Decision on visas, which would allow the citizens of Saudi Arabia to come to our country for up to 30 days without a visa during the summer period and thus enable further and accelerated development of tourism cooperation.

We believe that this is the best solution for supporting tourism growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is stated in the press release.
