BiH Presidency Member met with the UK Special Representative for the WB

The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development, James Cleverley, and the Special Representative of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans, Stuart Peach, in London. He called for the removal of the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, due to, as he stated, dangerous anti-Dayton activities.

Bećirović said that “politics is primarily a security, not a political problem.”

“It is better to remove Dodik than to allow his policy to existentially threaten the citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Bećirović said, adding that it is extremely important that a world superpower like the United Kingdom (UK) stands firmly by BiH and its citizens.

Cleverley said that the United Kingdom’s interest was to preserve peace and respect the Dayton Peace Agreement. He pointed out that the UK’s commitment to the democratic forces and the future of BiH is unquestionable and that the UK will take additional steps in the direction of stabilizing conditions in this part of Europe.

Peach also pointed out that the UK, as a witness of the Dayton Peace Agreement, is an ally of Bosnia and Herzegovina and announced that it will continue to support the preservation of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He added that the UK supports BiH’s Euro-Atlantic path and the strengthening of institutional cooperation.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that the United Kingdom will continue to provide strong support in the future in order to strengthen security and ensure the country’s democratic development.
