In the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, a meeting was held between Chief Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić and Director of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners Žarko Laketa, where they discussed current topics related to the work and competence of these law enforcement institutions, especially in the light of the fight against organized illegal migration.

The director Laketa presented the situation in the field of migrant flows in the last few months, when an increase in the number of migrants in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been recorded.

Given that the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina also has a Department for Combating Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling, which works on a large number of cases in this area, Chief Prosecutor Kajganić emphasized the importance of good cooperation between partner institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in detecting, preventing and criminally prosecuting this types of criminal acts, and especially the importance of the work of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners, which is in charge of registering foreign citizens residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their deportation, if they are persons residing illegally in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Partnership cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue in the coming period, announced the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
