HDZ President Dragan Čović met today in Mostar with Hungary’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Solt Bunford, to discuss bilateral relations and current political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a statement shared via social media, Čović described the meeting as constructive.

“A constructive meeting with Hungary’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Solt Bunford, in Mostar, where we discussed bilateral relations and the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As we strive towards the European Union, I emphasized that the Election Law and the equality of Croats remain imperative,” Čović said.

Ambassador Bunford serves as Deputy State Secretary for Security Policy and Political Director at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. From 2020 to 2022, he was the head of the Hungarian Information Office, the country’s foreign intelligence agency, and has more than two decades of experience in international relations.

Between 2003 and 2008, Bunford worked for the Permanent Mission of Hungary to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna.
