151205035.14_xlThe Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, a traditional winter charity event organized by the members of the diplomatic community in B&H, was opened yesterday at the hall Mirza Delibašić – Cultural and Sports Center Skenderija in Sarajevo.

Nearly 40 embassies are participating at this year’s Bazaar, and the embassies of Germany and Japan are participating at the Bazaar for the first time. Two hundred booths are set, and the event is much greater than it was last year, with more activities and playrooms for the kids.

“In addition to the fact that this is the largest diplomatic event, what is really important for us is that through this we are helping numerous organizations and hopefully we will raise more and more money every year, which we will later give to charity. The satisfaction is mutual – you can try tasty food, buy nice things, and at the same time help the children and organizations who need help,” said the wife of the Dutch ambassador Marietta Kraak, one of the organizers of this event.

Kraak added that between six and seven thousand tickets were sold last year, and they managed to raise almost 95,000 BAM, and they are hoping for even larger numbers this year.

At the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, you can try tasty and traditional dishes from different countries, buy various things like handcrafts, knitwear, clothes, footwear, cakes, pastries, cheeses, organic food, wines, home-made juices, honey, jams, cosmetical and natural products, jewelry, postcards, books, picture books, dishes etc.

This year, the visitors of the Bazaar can also buy a limited edition of a Cookbook which contains recipes from 35 countries of the world and can be purchased for 20 BAM.

The Bazaar is open until 4 p.m. today, and you can buy your tickets at the price of five BAM, while the ticket for instant bingo within which the visitors have an opportunity to win valuable prices costs three BAM. Funds from ticket sales are intended for charity purposes.

What it especially significant for this year’s Bazaar are increased security measures at the entrance and in the hall Mirza Delibašić.
