Premiere of the play by Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić ‘The Little Shoemaker’ (Čudnovate zgode šegrta Hlapića), directed by Zvonko Festinija will be held on Friday, 26 April at 7.30 in Puppet Theatre of Mostar, reports Fena.
The play will be held as a part of Mostar Spring. The cast of the play Martina Haubrich, Jadranka Popović- Miljko, Ivan Nevjestić, Anela Planinić, Ivana Radić and Bojan Beribaka.
Music was composed by Igor Karlić, scene by Zagorka Živković, puppets were made by Luči Vidanović, and dramatization by Ana Tonković-Dolenčić.
According to manager of Puppet Theatre Tibor Oreč, Brlić-Mažuranić is one of the best children’s writer, and her ‘Little Shoemaker’ will celebrate 100th birthday, and added that with this play, actors of the theatre wanted to pay an homage to ‘Croatian Andersen’.
Director Zvonko Festini said that he’s glad to work with Mostar actors because they are among the best.
Ivana Brlić Mažuranić was born in 1874, died in 1938 and she’s is internationally acclaimed Croatian writers for children. ‘The Little Shoemaker’ has been translated to many languages, among them Bengali, Hindustani, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Farsi.
