Dodik with Putin: I briefed him on our View of the Situation in BiH

Milorad Dodik, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) talked with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday.

Dodik has been in Russia for several days. More details from the meeting are expected soon.

”I talked with President Putin about the current situation in the region. I introduced Putin to our view of the situation in BiH. I can say that he is very familiar with the details and he was interested in almost every issue of the possible development of the political situation, ” stated Dodik in an interview.

Dodik stressed that he was satisfied with the conversation with Putin, that they discussed the current situation in Republika Srpska (RS) and BiH, and joint economic projects.

He stated that he agreed on the same gas price with Putin and that the Russian president supports the construction of a gas pipeline through RS, which he discussed with Gazprom representatives yesterday.

Dodik told that he “informed Putin about the attempt to seize RS property, which is not in line with Dayton, and Srpska cannot allow that.”

”There is a sincere commitment of President Putin to understand the very complex situation in our country, to express a desire to help in every specific project, that is something that is most important. I wasn’t here to criticize someone or throw a burden on someone else, that’s not my style. I was just talking about how BiH can function, that it is best for it to return to the Dayton Agreement. It seems to me that there is an understanding for that here, ” Dodik said after the meeting with Putin in Moscow.

He emphasized that Putin did not say anything against BiH, but he said that everyone must be respected, the entities, the constituent peoples, and all citizens.

”The story we hear about malignant Russian influences is absolutely lost and is shown to be completely meaningless when you talk to a man who leads this great country and who wishes everyone well. I convey that Putin primarily wants peace and that international law and the Dayton Agreement be respected, ” Dodik noted.

In the end, he pointed out that they “approved the location in Nevesinje for the construction of a solar power plant”.
