eu_pred_vratimaCzech Republic Ambassador Tomáš Szunyog will visit Srebrenik this week and present the activities of the “EU at Your Door” initiative, a series of programmes for young people and other citizens that will be organised in the area on 25-26 April.

On Friday Ambassdor Szunyog and EUSR Political Advisors Natasa Malinic and Dzenana Hodzic will meet senior students of Srebrenik Mixed High School for a 90-minute debate. Students will be able to learn more about EU programmes for young people in this country and will have an opportunity to discuss the shared values of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU.

On Saturday morning the programme will continue at Cafe Metropol. Ambassador Szunyog and EUSR staff will meet Srebrenik residents for “Coffee with the EU” to discuss issues that affect the Srebrenik community in the broader context of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path towards EU integration.

In the afternoon Ambassdor Szunyog and Mayor Sanel Buljubasic will welcome participants to the “EU Show” at the Centre for Culture and Information. The show will consist of a quiz and a talent contest, and performances by entertainers from outside Srebrenik.

“EU at Your Door” is country-wide EUSR information initiative that aims to raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges of EU accession. Through this initiative 15 municipalities across Bosnia and Herzegovina have joined together with the Office of the EU Special Representative to help citizens learn more about the country’s EU perspective.

After Srebrenik the project will visit Prozor-Rama on 29-30 April.
