EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda visited Prnjavor, where he met with local representatives and members of the town’s historic Italian community during a visit aimed at strengthening dialogue, fostering mutual understanding, and reinforcing EUFOR’s engagement with communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Accompanied by personnel from EUFOR’s Romanian Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) Banja Luka, Major General Fronda held constructive discussions with local representatives on issues of mutual interest and the importance of maintaining close cooperation between EUFOR and communities throughout the country.

The visit also provided a valuable opportunity to meet with Prnjavor’s historic Italian community, recognising its rich cultural heritage and longstanding contribution to the social fabric of the municipality. Discussions highlighted the importance of preserving cultural identity while promoting dialogue, inclusion, and strong community relationships.

Speaking during the visit, Major General Fronda emphasised the importance of engaging with communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Regular engagement with local representatives and community members is fundamental to building trust and mutual understanding. By listening to different perspectives and maintaining open dialogue, we strengthen the relationships that contribute to long-term stability and reinforce our commitment to supporting a safe and secure environment for all citizens,” said Major General Fronda.

The visit also highlighted the important role of EUFOR’s Liaison and Observation Teams, whose continuous engagement with local communities helps maintain strong relationships and supports EUFOR’s comprehensive understanding of developments across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

EUFOR remains committed to being a visible, credible, and impartial force, working closely with local communities and the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in support of peace, stability, and security throughout the country.
