EUFOR Multinational Troops put quick Response to the Test

As Exercise Quick Response 2026 continues, EUFOR troops demonstrated their ability to rapidly respond to emerging situations and support local authorities in maintaining a safe and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In Sarajevo, Greek EUFOR troops conducted a fast paced, challenging exercise involving the protection of an area and the escort and extraction of personnel from the Greek Embassy. The exercise tested the ability of l EUFOR personnel to quickly coordinate, mobilise and respond to a developing situation, while working in support of BiH law enforcement agencies.

The training also involved EUFOR personnel from the Čapljina Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) House. Two Austrian platoons from the Mostar Temporary Station Area, supported by Austrian military police and engineering personnel, conducted a scenario focused on the extraction of EUFOR personnel from the LOT House.

Although conducted as a training scenario, the situations were designed to reflect the challenges that could arise in a rapidly changing security environment. The exercise highlights the value of multinational cooperation and EUFOR’s ability to bring together personnel and capabilities from different nations, at different locations, and rapidly turn them into an effective response.

Through exercises such as Quick Response 2026, EUFOR continues to strengthen its capacity, credibility, readiness and deterrence, while maintaining its ability to act alongside BiH authorities when required.

For the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this readiness matters: it means that EUFOR remains prepared, responsive and capable of supporting a safe and secure environment across the country.

Presence you can see. Readiness you can trust.
