Tonight in Zenica, the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will welcome the selection of Ukraine in the semi-final playoff match to go to the European Championship in Germany.
The representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been preparing for three days in Sarajevo and are looking forward to the match against the Ukrainians with optimism, and are convinced that they can win an appearance at the European Championship for the first time.
This will be the fifth barrage for the BiH national team, the previous ones were unsuccessful, so everyone hopes that they will be happy this time.
Coach Savo Milošević believes that BiH has the strength and quality to beat Ukraine, but he is aware of the difficulty of the task.
“If I didn’t believe we could do it, I wouldn’t even be here, and I believe the players think the same. Of course, we have to be aware that it will be a very difficult task, that we have to be aware of what we have to do to get into a situation to win. I know we can, I knew before the game, and it’s up to us to show on the field tomorrow,” said Milošević.
Captain Edin Dzeko points out that, judging by the qualification matches, Ukraine is the favorite, but that there are no favorites in such matches, so that the chances are equal for both selections.
He points out how important it is to take advantage of this opportunity, which is probably the last for some players.
He expects a difficult match, but he believes that in front of our fans, from whom he expects support from the beginning to the end of the match, we can achieve victory.
Ukrainians are also optimistic ahead of tonight’s duel, whose coach Sergiy Rebrov believes that his team can achieve great things, but that it needs to be shown on the field.
“It doesn’t matter to me how BiH played the qualifiers, because they can be better prepared for this game and show that they know how to play football. However, we are ready and we will have no respect for the BiH players. We have to concentrate only on our game and our team,” said Rebrov.
In the qualifiers, Ukraine was third, behind England and Italy, but they had the same number of points as the Italians – 14, while Bosnia and Herzegovina was only fifth with nine points, but won a place in the play-offs through the League of Nations B. In the past qualifiers for the world championship , after 1:1 in Ukraine, the Ukrainians won 2:0 in Zenica.
The match will be played at 20:45 at the Bilino Polje stadium, Fena news agency writes.
