Exhibition “World Heritage in BiH” Opened in Strasbourg

pociteljCommission for Preservation of National Monuments of BiH opened an exhibition “World Heritage in BiH” in the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

Exhibition was organized on the occasion of session of Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe from October 14-16, the Commission said.

Apart from the national monuments which are on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, Old Bridge and Old City of Mostar, Mehmed-pasa Sokolović Bridge in Višegrad, exhibition also includes eight goods that are on the UNESCO Temporary List – Blagaj, natural and architectural ensemble, Blidinje, natural and architectural ensemble, Jajce, historical urban area, necropolis with stećci medieval tombstones, inter-state nomination of medieval tombstones, Vjetrenica Cave, Počitelj, historical urban area, Sarajevo, symbol of multiculturalism and Stolac, natural and architectural ensemble.

Given that BiH is taking over chairing position over the Council of Europe next year, the exhibition is dedicated to promotion of BiH, so the tourist offer was also presented by representatives of cities and municipalities of Mostar, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Prijedor and Sarajevo.

President of Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe Herwig Van Staa, Ambassador of BiH Mission in Council of Europe Almir Šahović, Minister of Administration and Local Self-Governance of Republika Srpska and representatives of Chamber of Regions of BiH in the Congress Lejla Rešić and member of Commission for Preservation of National Monuments Ljiljana Ševo addressed at the opening.

Exhibition is organized by BiH Delegation in Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, led by Vice President of the Federation of BiH Svetozar Pudarić.
