The Fate of Mostar to be resolved tonight?

mostar 1Representatives of the SDA, SBB and HDZ BiH will meet with the US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack in the building of the US Embassy in Sarajevo tonight at 7 pm.

The only topic that will be discussed at this very important meeting is the holding of elections in Mostar.

“I really firmly believe that there is need for elections in Mostar this year. Now we are talking about days, not months, to allow these elections to happen this October. I will continue to work with all political leaders to urge them to find a solution,” announced Ambassador Cormack.

She warned that Mostar must remain a unique city, and that divisions are not the future of BiH.

“The solution for Mostar must do two things – it has to achieve implementation of the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the city must remain unique. The division is not the future of BiH. Connecting citizens and the construction of a common society, that is what we need for the future,” said Ambassador Cormack.

She reminded the fact that the right of citizens to vote is the basis of democracy in all democratic systems.

During the day, the leaders of the SDA, SBB and HDZ BiH will have the meeting with representatives of the city committee of their parties in Mostar.
