Fighting corruption, including through prevention and protection of whistleblowers, has to be the top priority for BiH authorities, the High Representative Christian Schmidt stated today during his visit to the BiH Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight Against Corruption.

The High Representative met with the newly appointed Director of the Agency, Elvis Kondžić, Deputy Director Damirka Mioč, and Assistant Director Mevludin Džindo to hear about the Agency’s priorities and strategies for fighting corruption.

The High Representative expressed his support for the important work the Agency should be doing to strengthen citizens’ confidence in public institutions. Corruption remains one of the key challenges in BiH, and one of the main reasons behind the population outflow. That is why it is so important to eradicate it, and the High Representative will continue to closely observe the Agency’s work.
