Fines for Violating Smoking Ban begin in BiH

Fines for violating the No Smoking Ordinance in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will begin to be levied today.

Amir Hadžić from the Association of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs spoke yesterday about how the implementation of the No Smoking Ordinance will affect the work of caterers.

12 months ago, the provisions of the Law on Control and Limited Use of Tobacco, Tobacco and Other Smoking Products of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Rulebook on Conditions for Special Smoking Areas in the sense of exceptions to the smoking ban, came into force.

Any failure to comply with the decision will result in fines in accordance with the Law on Inspections of the Canton of BiH. They range from 3,000 BAM to 15,000 BAM for legal entities, from 1,000 BAM to 3,000 BAM for a responsible person in a legal entity, while a natural person – an employer is fined from 1,000 BAM to 1,500 BAM, the Canton of BiH KUIP emphasized.
