Fireworks marked the Beginning of the Festival of friendship, Messages of love and peace sent from Goražde

kud2The 18th International Festival of Friendship was officially opened in Goražde the last night. In the presence of hundreds of citizens and participants of the Festival from several European countries, with the sounds of the national anthem the flag of the Festival was raised and the opening ceremony was completed with a huge fireworks.

Mayor of Goražde, Muhamed Ramović and the Mayor of Metman, Bernd Gunther, opened the Festival together.

The opening ceremony started with a performance of Wind Orchestra from Travnik, children from kindergarten SOS Kinderdorf and the Sun from Goražde, and the dance group “The Hope Dance Whispers” who performed salsa. Bakir Vehabović, Džejla Ramović and Lejla Žuga performed solo.

In the name of young people from Goražde, Nino Bašić, valedictorian of MSŠ “Enver Pozderović,” sent messages of peace and friendship and welcomed guests from several countries from Europe and all around the world, wishing them great time in the city on the Drina River.

The official opening ceremony of the Festival on the plateau of the Center for Culture was preceded by the promenade concert on the streets by Wind Orchestra from Travnik and review of folk groups.

On this occasion, part of the customs and traditions were shown by the members of CAS “Jedinstvo” from Sjenica, Folklore Ensemble “Rožaje,” CAS “Mladi metalac” from Hadžići, “Preporod” from Busovača, CAS “Stijena” from Cazin and host folklore ensemble of folk dances and songs of the Centre for Culture and CAS “AZOT” Vitkovići. Šefćet and Denis Hamidović performed sevdalinka songs for all of the guests.
