Five Million BAM for Social Protection throughout the Federation of BiH

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted, at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, programs that provided five million KM for eight capital investments in the social protection system, from day centers for children with developmental disabilities and safe houses, to centers for social work, public kitchens and new accommodation facilities.

“The largest individual amount, 1.74 million KM, is intended for the improvement of spatial and technical conditions in centers for social work throughout the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while an additional 1.2 million KM is provided for improving the spatial and technical capacities of organizations that provide social care and social support services,” the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy announced.

The Ministry adds that a total of 700,000 KM has been provided for two day centers for children with developmental disabilities – 400,000 KM for equipping the Day Center in Ilidža and 300,000 KM for the construction of the Day Center in Posušje, while 500,000 KM has been provided for equipping the Safe House in Ljubuško.

KM 400,000 was allocated for the construction of new accommodation facilities of the Reception Center “Duje”, and the same amount was provided for capital investments in public kitchens in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. An additional 60,000 KM is intended to solve the housing issue of children of a special category of civilian victims of war in the territory of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.

During the previous three years, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy invested almost 15 million KM in the development of social services throughout the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
