Floods in B&H: German THW Helps!

THW Technisches HilfswerkB&H is currently experiencing the worst floods in the last 120 years. Therefore, high capacity pumps are needed for pumping water masses. The organization for technical support ( THW) ordered by the German government has sent a special team to support the flooded area near Orašje.

“I am pleased that our field forces can help B&H. I am sure that with the high capacity pumps, we will contribute to the improvement of the situation on the field”, said Mr. Albercht Broemme, President of THW. A total of 17 assistants, who are trained for such mission from the Provincial Bureau Hessen, Saarland are coming to assist with the team for Serbia. With the equipments of the High Capacity Pumping (HCP) is included among others even the pump of high capacity that can draw up to 15.000 litter of water in minute. It can pump up water up to a distance of one meter.

THWnis a honorary organization for emergency response with around 80.000 volunteers, firefighters, police and the organization that assists during natural disaster cases.
