Foreign Investments recorded an Increase of 66.8 %?

The Council of Ministers of BiH received the Information of the Directorate for Economic Planning on the Movement of Macroeconomic Indicators for the period January – October 2017. From this Information is evident the increase of all economic parameters in BiH.

According to the Information, registered economic growth in the third quarter of last year in BiH amounted to 2.6 % in comparison to the same quarter in the previous year, with which was continued growth from the first and second quarters. An important contribution to the growth of GDP was achieved in the investment sector after a long period of time, along with the growth of private consumption and positive foreign trade balance, while the public consumption stagnated.

According to the last data of the Central Bank of BiH, the total foreign investments amounted to 386.7 million BAM in the balance of payments, and they represent an increase by 66.8 % in comparison to the same period last year.

The four-month growth trend of exports of goods was continued in October 2017 at the level of BiH and it amounted to 20.5 % in comparison to the same month last year. Import of goods was increased by 15 % as well.

The number of employed people was increased by 2.4 % in the month of September 2017, in comparison with the same month of 2016, and it amounted to 753 400.

A total of 11.8 billion BAM of revenues from indirect and direct taxes was collected in BiH in the first 10 months of this year, which is by 8.3 % more than in the same period of the previous year. Entity tax authorities collected 5.9 billion BAM in revenues, which is 515 million BAM more when compared to the same period of 2016.

Total deposits at the end of this period amounted to 19.6 billion BAM and they recorded an increase of 12.1 %, while the largest contribution to the growth was recorded from the population sector, whose deposits amounted to a total of 11.1 billion BAM, according to the Council of Ministers of BiH.
