Gorica Dodik closes Restaurant after the new US Sanctions

After new US sanctions on companies, officials and individuals from RS were announced yesterday, Gorica Dodik, Milorad Dodik’s daughter, informed the public on social media that she was closing the Agape restaurant.

She expressed her gratitude to all the employees who worked at this restaurant and who, as she says, will now lose their jobs.

“You are aware of the fact that the restaurant has been placed on the US blacklist, and that banks in the Republika Srpska, through a verbal order from employees at the US embassy, have closed the restaurant’s accounts, thus preventing our employees from receiving their salaries and exercising basic human rights such as the right to work. We are aware that a catering facility represents a security threat to global stability, and that the Merciful Angel Michael Murphy recognized this in time and prevented a financial collapse and a fall in the US stock market,” wrote Gorica Dodik.

The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Friday imposed sanctions on five individuals and one company for their role in supporting the efforts of Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik and his family to enrich themselves at the expense of the public. Sanctions were also imposed on eight individuals who, at Dodik’s behest, organized and implemented the celebration of Republika Srpska Day (RS Day) in January 2024, in violation of the principles of the Dayton Peace Agreement (DPA) and the rulings of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CCB) that declared the date unconstitutional.

Pavle Čorović, a citizen of Bosnia and Serbia, the husband of Gorica Dodik, who is already under U.S. sanctions, and the director of Global Liberty d.o.o. Laktaši, was targeted. Global Liberty, along with other entities associated with the Dodik family, received significant financial benefits from the RS budget. OFAC has sanctioned Corović under Executive Order 14033 (E.O. 14033) for directly or indirectly controlling Global Liberty.

Radmila Bojanić and Nemanja Reljin, director and owner of Nimbus Innovations d.o.o. Banja Luka, are also subject to sanctions. Nimbus and Sirius 2010 d.o.o. Banja Luka (the company that merged with Nimbus) were previously sanctioned for their association with Igor Dodik, the son of Milorad Dodik. Bojanić regularly reported to Igor about business activities and sought his approval for decision-making. OFAC has sanctioned Bojanić and Reljin for their control of Nimbus, while Bojanić has been additionally sanctioned for acting on behalf of Igor Dodik.

OFAC has also sanctioned Igor Dodik and his associate, Serbian citizen Marko Gujaničić, for their role in manipulating media and public opinion polls in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The two founded the company SEE Media Research LTD in Cyprus with the aim of monopolizing the measurement of television program ratings in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Gujaničić informed Igor about the strategy of manipulating polls to achieve their goals.
