The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) announced the world ‘Tourism Barometer’ this week and brought great news for the tourism sector in B&H.
Our country found itself on the list of “winners” in the category of countries where the number of tourists is increasing the most from year to year.
B&H is on great, 6th place with a growth rate of 28.2 % and, besides Iceland, it is the only European country on the list.
Revenues from tourism are giving a major contribution to B&H economy. There are summer and winter destinations in B&H, with continuity in tourism throughout the whole year. Besides Sarajevo, the most important tourist destinations are: Mostar, Medjugorje, Bihac, Neum, Jahorina, Fojnica, Teslic etc.
Paraguay took the first place in the category with our country, which is followed by Tajikistan, Niue, Japan, Iceland, B&H, Panama, Thailand, Chile and Seychelles.
