The Children’s Celebration Program of the BiH Statehood Day, called ‘Domovina u srcu’, was organized this year for the first time in the organization of the City of Sarajevo.

Nearly 300 students of the fourth grade of Sarajevo primary schools with Mayor Abdulah Skaka laid white roses on the Memorial Place of the Killed Children during siege of Sarajevo from 1992 to 1995.

The students together with the Mayor walked from the city center with the flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the City of Sarajevo, to the City Hall, where they were delighted to decorate posters with their messages and greetings. “My homeland is BiH, and she is infinitely beautiful,” , “Dear homeland, you are my heart and shining sun,” , “My homeland, you are in my heart,” are just some of the messages sent by children to BiH.

In the crowded City Hall, the students were animated by famous BH actor Mario Drmac, and they enjoyed the performance of the tamburitza orchestra, accordionists and young ballet dancers – participants of the Primary Music and Ballet School “Novo Sarajevo”. At the end of the program, the children visited the museum’s setting “Embrace the Country.”
