The passport of Bosnia and Herzegovina is ranked 72nd on the list of the most powerful passports in 2009, while it ranked 49th this year – the Henley Passport Index said in this year’s report.

As said, according to the latest list, holders of BiH passport can travel to 116 countries without a visa.

Judging by this data, BiH is among the six countries that have made the most progress on this list in the last 10 years.

When it comes to European countries that can travel without a BiH passport, 116 countries include Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy and others.

Interestingly, BiH’s citizens cannot travel without visa to US, but a visa is not required for seven South American countries such as Bolivia, Brazil, Panama, Chile and others.

The Henley Passport Index is the original ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The ranking is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world’s largest and most accurate database of travel information, and enhanced by ongoing research by the Henley & Partners Research Department.
