How safe is Food in BiH?

On the eve of the Orthodox Easter holidays, there is an increased sale of chocolate eggs, and what has caused concern in our country is that some Kinder products have been poisoned with salmonella.

”When it comes to food safety, there is no absolute safety or zero risk, ” noted Dalibor Vidacak from the Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

“Food is a sensitive substance and can be contaminated due to the fact that in its process of production, processing, and even distribution, it is exposed to a number of chemical, physical, and biological hazards that can affect its health safety.”

According to him, an order has been issued for suspicious Kinder products to be withdrawn from the market, and the inspection is still monitoring the situation in the field.

“Through the information we received from Ferrero and through the fast food alert system, these are Kinder Schoko-Bons products with shelf life from May to August this year. This information has been shared with the relevant inspection bodies so that they can make their product recall checks, ” Vidacak explained, BHRT writes.
