The price of central heating for the users of the Heating Plant in Sarajevo Canton will be increased by 10 percent from February.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton made this decision today in accordance with its earlier announcement and promise that due to the increase in gas prices, the increase in the price of central heating will not exceed 10 percent of the current price, and that by subsidizing part of the price increase heating plant service.

“Although the Independent Body proposed to the Government to increase the current price of central heating by 13.2 percent, the Government remained in its position that the price increase will not exceed 10 percent, because our primary interest is to protect citizens. This does not mean that the business and profitability of the company will be called into question, we will not allow that,”  said the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection CS Enver Hadziahmetovic.

The CS government is already subsidizing half of the increase in the price of gas for citizens, users of Sarajevogas services, which amounts to 37 percent as of January 1 this year, the CS Protocol and Press Service said.
