independent mayorsAfter they announced that BiH will soon have a new political “Movement for Europe” a few days ago, the independent mayors yesterday signed a platform for future joint political action.

Together with the leaders of Visoko, Kalesija, Buzim, Stari Grad Sarajevo and Gorazde, and Bosanski Petrovac where the meeting was held, Mayor of Zenica Fuad Kasumovic signed a document that will help him and his colleagues in creating a positive environment in their cities and municipalities.

“In Bosanski Petrovac gathered mayors who won in the last elections as independent candidates. During the meeting were discussed only two points, in particular, we’ve shared our experiences from the previous two months, which we have gained on our functions. This is especially important for us who are the first time on these positions and we want to apply positive thinking together. For example, we have agreed that all of these municipalities and cities, as Zenica did, will increase taxes or increase communal fees for betting shops,” said Kasumovic.

He added that their aim is to include into this new movement all those who want to bring a change in the political life of BiH, and will offer cooperation to all parties and individuals. Also, said Kasumovic, we have already found “common ground” with some parties and individuals, and in future will all together “sign the creation of such a civil, European bloc for the elections in 2018”.
