Indictment issued against Darko Maric for Illegal Trade in Excise Products

Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against Indictment issued against , born in 1984 in Ljubuski, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused is charged with putting a larger quantity of the produced cut tobacco into illegal circulation on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 26 April 2016, which was not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the allegations in the Indictment, the accused was engaged in illegal trade in excise products; namely, he was preparing the tobacco in the shape suitable for consumption and then selling it to his buyers with an aim of avoiding to pay legally prescribed excise duties, whereby he caused the damage to the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the search, authorized official persons found and seized 1,400 kilograms of tobacco leaves, cut tobacco and tobacco chopped in some other manner.

The accused is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, as referred to in Article 210a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
