Which products based on sports data have been developed? The SeekandHit team has developed a solution for creating real-time content for sports events to help brands use sports moments more effectively; the NightWatch team introduced element of gamification into classic sports betting, while the DVC Solutions team made a platform that allows tracking the effects of a large number of basketball players from different teams or league in one place.

It all started on Friday morning with introductory hackathon workshops held by Sportradar. Sportradar is co-organizer of this competition, together with SPARK, and as a major international corporation employs 1,900 people in 30 countries and operates at the unique intersection of sports, media and betting industry. Hackathon started exactly at 5 PM, when ten teams started developing ideas they applied with, on these four challenges: Sports betting, Gamification of sports data, Future sports data and Sports data journalism

A lot happened in 48 hours – there was a lot of programming (some team members event fell asleep in their workplaces), mentors gave useful advice, the teams hung out together, we drank Filicori coffee (Binvest), Leda water and Red Bull energy drinks, and there was also a plenty of food – from fruits to junk food. Even the clock shifted backward! This was all followed by presentations of all solutions made in these 48 hours, and then it was the time for the announcement of winners (see the beginning of the article). The tripartite jury (Andrea Čordaš – SPARK, Stjepko Čordaš – NSoft, and Luka Pataky – Sportradar) unanimously chose the best according to the criteria of innovation, feasibility, market and commercial sustainability.
