The Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina is excited to announce the Japanese Film Festival, which will be held in five cities in BiH, Trebinje, Mostar, Tuzla, Sarajevo, and Banja Luka from 13 November 2025 to 6 February 2026 in cooperation with the Japan Foundation and related theatres in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This event aims to showcase the richness of Japanese cinema, offering local audience a unique opportunity to explore the diverse storytelling and artistic expression found in Japanese movies. Throughout the festival, three movies will be released, featuring a selection of critically acclaimed movies that highlight the culture, artistry, and innovation of Japan’s movie industry. February 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina and we hopethat this film festival will serve as a bridge of further understanding and friendship between the two countries.
