Marjana Tomas is the winner of a significant recognition Yale Educator Award 2015 (Educator of the year of Yale University in 2015). Marjana is a member of the Executive Board of the Subsidiary of psychologists Herzegovina, and she received the award as an advisor for admission to universities at the United World College in Mostar.
Marjana is the first winner of this award coming from B&H, and the only winner of this year’s award from Europe.
Every year within the Yale Educator Program, the Office for admission of students of the Yale University presents recognitions to the educators from around the world who were an extraordinary support and inspiration for their students in achieving top results.
This recognition is being awarded every year to the professors and expert associates of the schools from which the current generation of students comes. During the summer, the future students of the Yale University nominate the educators from their schools, and the Committee consisted of officials of the Office for admission of students of the Yale University considers each of the submitted nominations and chooses the best educators – winners of this recognition, said Marjana Tomas.
Since she did not know that she was in the competition for this recognition, the news of her nomination immensely delighted Marjana. She said that the fact that the nomination was submitted by one of her students means a lot to her.
“When the people with whom you work directly recognize the dedication and love for what you are doing, it is a great satisfaction which gives you will and motivation to keep going”.
