ljubo bešlić- fiscalis.hrMayor of Mostar Ljubo Bešlić visited Spain, Barcelona and attended the first EU Core Net Cities Congress

The Congress is organised by Barcelona, in cooperation with FERRMED Association and International Logistic and Material Handling Exhibition (SIL).

The EU Core Net Cities Congress serves as a unique space for discussion, understanding and interconnection, where they will put forward and debate trends in urbanism related to intercity mobility and information and communication technologies applied to cities. Discussion will centre on the latest trends in areas such as transport, logistics, energy transmission, data intercommunication and business management.

Bešlić signed a Letter of Intention on becoming a member of the EU Core Net Cities which has the following aims:  to create a governing body which will deal with the interconnection of the European cities of the “Core Network”, railway projects linked to infrastructure, intermodal stations, passenger services and goods, urban development projects related to intercity mobility, city-centred ICT projects.

The 1st EU Core Net Cities Congress incorporated an Exhibition Area, in which a large number of European cities can join in their commitment to creating a new coalition of cities interconnected by rail corridors forming part of the Trans-European “Core Network”. At the congress more than 40 cities from Europe participated, e.g. Barcelona, Lyon, Montpellier, Ghent, Genova, Rijeka, etc.
