Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and members of the Presidency Željka Cvijanović and Denis Bećirović sent telegrams of condolence to the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, the families of the victims and the citizens of the Czech Republic regarding the shooting that happened in the afternoon in the center of Prague.

“Dear President Pavel, I am shocked and concerned by the tragic events in Prague, after which several people lost their lives. I condemn this inhumane act in the strongest terms. Please accept the deepest expressions of condolences and sympathy. You, the families of the innocent victims and the citizens of the Czech Republic on behalf of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Presidency Bosnia and Herzegovina and my name. We wish the injured citizens a speedy and successful recovery,” said Komšić in a telegram of condolence.

Cvijanović stated in her telegram that she was deeply shaken by the news of the attack. She strongly condemned, as she stated, the senseless act of an individual who took young lives.

“In this difficult moment for your country, to you, to the families of the victims and to the friendly Czech people, I express my sincere condolences and support, and to the injured I wish for a speedy recovery and the strength to overcome the consequences of this tragic event,” emphasized Cvijanović.

Bećirović also stated that he was shaken by the news about the casualties of citizens in the shooting.

“I sincerely sympathize with you, the families of the victims and the citizens of the friendly Czech Republic. Please, Mr. President, convey my words of condolence to the families of the victims in these tragic circumstances. Accept, Mr. President, my sincere condolences,” wrote Bećirović.

Let us remind you that at least 15 people were killed and 24 wounded when a person armed with an automatic rifle opened fire on Jan Palah Square in the afternoon.
