Police Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo are testing one of the most modern radar systems in the world, whose main aim is to help in the fight against conscienceless drivers.

It is the so-called TruCAM system, i.e. measuring device with integrated laser and a digital camera which, besides capabilities to measure the speed, has the ability to take photos and record perpetrators as well.

“This is a pilot project in which police officers are not punishing drivers yet, but only warning them. When we talk about the characteristics of this device, its main advantage is that it can work in all types of weather conditions, including the night, day, fog, rain and snow,” as stated by the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo, Suvada Kuldija.

She also noted that this radar represents one of the most modern devices in the possession of the MIA CS, and that it could largely contribute to the fight against traffic offenders in the future.

“It is also important to note that this device can measure the speed up to 320 km/h, at a distance of 700 meters, which completes its characteristics and makes this device one of the best out there,” stated Kuldija.

Moreover, TruCAM collects a series of video proofs for offences, together with the high resolution photography that can identify the vehicle, register plates, and the visual characteristics of a person who was driving the car, according to which is possible to identify the driver.
