The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, said that Croatia completely ignores BiH’s position to adequately prevent the construction of a radioactive and nuclear waste disposal site on Trgovska Gora, but BiH will not fail to respond to this problem.
Košarac told Srna news agency that it can be an open bilateral issue between BiH and Croatia, because it is imperative for the institutions of BiH to preserve the lives and health of the 250,000 inhabitants of both Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH who live in the area of the Una river.
“From the information at our disposal, it is evident that the Croatian side is not giving up. We intervened in July based on our activity according to the international agreements signed by Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the joint conference, we emphasized that Croatia completely ignores the views of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Košarac.
Košarac said that BiH experts are extremely dedicated to activities and that there will certainly not be a lack of adequate answers to this problem.
“It is a worrying message that comes from Croatia almost every day, but we will not give up our efforts to, either through a legal battle or in some other way, define the issue that Croatia should still give up such a location,” said Košarac.
He emphasized that there are other locations in Croatia where the same can be done.
“I believe in the strength of the institutions and the dedicated work of the people working on the matter, both in the legal and expert teams,” said Košarac.
He reminded that the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, emphasized that issue and that the conclusion was reached that all institutions must be mobilized on that issue in order to prevent the intention of Croatia.
“I believe that there will be more fighting. I am not sure that Croatia will give up, but we will not give up on our intention either,” said Košarac.
