Archbishop of Vrhbosna Cardinal Vinko Puljić and the President of the Croatian Cultural Society “Napredak” Franjo Topić have removed the cover cloth from the monument of Pope John Paul II in front of Sarajevo Cathedral “Heart of Jesus”, thus revealing the large monument of the Pope for all the citizens.
The uncovering of the monument is the final act of the ceremony, which gathered hundreds of Sarajevo citizens, religious people and tourists at the square in front of the Cathedral.
Hrvojo Urumović, a young sculptor made this monument from silumin material.
The uncovering of the monument was preceded with speeches from several political and religious officials.
