More than 30 parliamentarians from 28 European countries and member states of the Council of Europe are arriving in Sarajevo today, on a two-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the initiative of MP Sabina Ćudić, in her capacity as Vice-President of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

  • This is one of the most significant international parliamentary visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent times, during which European parliamentarians from countries such as France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Ireland, Spain, and many others will have the opportunity to learn about the current political challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as discuss possible models of solutions in accordance with European standards and judgments of the European Court of Human Rights – said Ćudić.

This is the first major initiative she has launched after being elected Vice-President of the Monitoring Committee in January this year, Our Party announced.

  • For several months, we have been working intensively on the organization of this session in order to enable representatives of European countries to directly discuss the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the challenges of our constitutional system, but also the European perspectives of our country – said Ćudić.

A special session will be held tomorrow in the Blue Hall of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Ćudić will moderate a discussion on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. One of the speakers at this session will be the distinguished BiH legal expert Nedim Ademović.

  • Since I was elected Vice-President of the Monitoring Committee of the Council of Europe in January this year, I have been working intensively on organizing a visit and holding a session in Sarajevo in order to familiarize representatives of a large number of countries with the facts about the situation in BiH at the highest level and advocate for useful solutions for the country, but also to introduce them to the considerable potential of our country – emphasizes Ćudić.
