Motor vehicles in Bosnia-Herzegovina are on average 17 years old and 70 percent use diesel – the World Bank report on air pollution in Bosnia-Herzegovina states.
“Older vehicles that use low-quality fuels are one of the leading causes of air pollution. Cars in Bosnia-Herzegovina are on average 17 years old, about 70 percent use diesel – which is particularly polluting, and more than half of vehicles are below Euro 3 standards ( data is from 2017),” they noted from the World Bank.
The report also said that 3,300 people die in Bosnia-Herzegovina annually due to air pollution-related diseases.
